I have a rice cooker in my "apartamento" in Medellin, and whenever one of my Colombian amigas visits and cooks rice, they also, out of convenience, forgo the "caldero" (cast iron or cast aluminum cooking pot) and the pegao, concon, cucayo, or raspa.
