
Tridosha system
The central concept of Ayurveda medicine is the theory that health exists when the three basic fluids and the doshas of Vata, Pitta, Kapha are balanced.
Vata is the impulse principle necessary to move the function of the nervous system.
Pita is an energy principle that digests using bile and thus leads the metabolism to the venous system.
Kapha is the principle of body fluid, it refers to a carrier of nutrients to mucus, lubrication, arterial system.
All Ayurvedic doctors believe that these ancient ideas exist in harmony with the physical reality, based on the knowledge discovered by the wise men. These concepts allow physicians to examine the system's homeostasis. People may be the dominant presence of dosha or the Constitution, but all doha have basic elements.
Philosophy of Ayurveda
The emergence of different schools of Sanskrit philosophy such as Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Vedanta and Mimamsa was another landmark in the history of Indian medicine. The principle described in these philosophies promoted the development within Ayurveda of the theory of humoral pathology, which shows that the human body is composed of Tridoshas, three humor of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When they are in equilibrium, they are called Tridhatus.
Bodies with these three humor in equilibrium enjoy full health. These imbalances exacerbate health.
Ayurvedic disease control
The principles of pharmacology fundamentally differ from the principles of other medical systems, especially evidence-based medicine. Most medicines are made in the form of herbs.
Shamana and Shodhana are two concepts of disease management in Ayurveda. Shamana means relaxation. The Shamana method relieves the disease and its symptoms. Shodhana means exclusion, Shodhana's method is aimed at eliminating the basic causes of illness.
