Are you using trouble using Google AdWords in your browser? If you start using browser in Safe mode and your account loads and is fully functional, then the problem may very well be with the add- But just as likely, it can be one of the players on the other side of the court, (ie, Google.)
If you were experiencing trouble logging into your AdWords account, like I was, then, like myself, you probably tried disabling add-ons and altering preferences, white-listing Google sites or accepting more cookies and allowed tracking, among other things, to try to solve the problem. You probably were getting as frustrated as I did as the message,
"Experiencing network connectivity problems.
continuously popped up, and then , the Big Red Box containing this message:
If you were trying to make a change, it may not have save. Please refresh this page again. This page. [Dismiss] "
Some of the add-ons that I expected contributing to the problem were:
- Ghostery
- Adblock Plus
- Adblock Edge
- Self-Destructing Cookies
- Better Privacy
After manually disabling add-ons, restarting the browser, and then logging back in again and again, I finally found the cause, or, should I say, the solution. The confusing part about it was was been been It could just as easily have been updated a Google update that triggered the mystery "browser malfunctioning."
Without a doubt, this was generated by a discrepancy between theadwords.Google.com/ webpage and / or the Adblock Plus (most recently updated version) and the Addblock Edge add-ons. I tried altering various settings and different combinations of add-ons and preferences and logging in and out of AdWords after each variation to come to this conclusion.
All I need to do was disable Adblock Plus as well as Adblock Edge on the site, adwords.Google.com/ , to enable AdWords, including the Google Keyword Tool , to work normally again. Even when these add-ons are enabled enabled on the sign in page, accounts.Google.com/ , AdWords still functions properly after logging in if they are disabled on the other.
On another tip, I have found the "Better Privacy" add-on, which allows you to manage and share local shared objects (LSO) or flash-cookies to be problematic on some websites that make it necessary for you to enable Adobe Flash Player to store these cookies locally on your computer. If blocked, certain features of the website will not be functional - even, simply, logging in.
But for many of us basic users, this may require searching and digging up extra info and instructions for us to accomplish the task.
Because Firefox is awesome and there are literally thousands of good add-ons to consider choosing, it is definitely one of the safest and most convenient and personal browsing experiences available.
Inexperienced users may find conflicting issues with the most "basic" architecture of internet browsing and may cause unnecessary headaches and a lot of time wasted trouble-shooting just to comfortably surf your favorite or most commonly used webpages.
