Can you completely avoid spam? Is this all possible? I created a website and a blog and received a lot of spam, so I was forced to invest expensive anti-spam software etc. Importantly, I was away from my day of work.
Now I thought I was doing wonderful things for customers. By placing my mail on my website, it's easy to access and give me a clickable e-mail link and contact me. This is accomplished by adding mailto: your@emailaddress.com. This will open an email client and set up a new mail to send. Your prospective customer, please fill out a copy of the body and possibly the headline. Unfortunately, spammers tend to do so, so they are exploiting this and should not do! Did I learn the lesson? It was a field day for spam bots that harvested your address looking for mailto: or @ and it opened me to the pillar of Viagra 's Nigerian Swiss watch.
When I tried clicking on the link I found this solution on the someones website and noticed that it was a graphic rather than a clickable link. At that time it was a bit annoying, but since I implemented this technique I started with it. What you can do to emulate this is to create your email address, take a screenshot and make tight @ emailaddress.com. Basically I advertised your e-mail to the human outlook, but to the evil spam bot.
You can move this further and add links to this graphic. However, do not add this mailto to your code to undo this anti-spam solution. Even without using the standard link to your contact page, you do not have to type your type email address into your email client. Also, make sure that the e-mail address is not included in the contact form script or code.
