Recently, for several reasons, I have attracted my attention that there are few recipes for smoothies right now. In that respect, any type of fish smoothie recipe is not enough. So, this must be the right time to share the creature of my favorite sardine smoothie with you.
Why sardines? One, they are small. Smaller fish are lower in the food chain, and the amount of pollutants (mercury, PCB, etc.) contained in fat is much lower than for larger fish. When it comes to fish, it is always getting smaller. (This is difficult for you to try to find even one whale smoothie recipe.)
Sardines may be small, but becoming nutrition is huge. Did you know that one sardine smoothie contains about 25% of the daily calcium requirement? In addition, vitamin D, B12, niacin, phosphorus, selenium, of course, contains protein. As an additional bonus, sardines are also highly anti-inflammatory.
Personally, I believe that I do not think enough about the inflammatory aspect of the food that most people eat. Persistent inflammation of chronic or low grade is thought to be the root cause of many age-related diseases (almost all from arthritis to Alzheimer's, according to some sources). Some foods are inflammatory and some are anti-inflammatory. We recommend you to balance as much as possible.
Since we are all excited about sardines, how do we incorporate them into delicious smoothies? It is a two step process and I will tell it to you.
Step 1, make basic juice.
Here's what you need:
One juicer
Some stems of celery
Yellow Onion 1/4
2 or 3 jalapeno peppers
One raw beat
Your way of doing it is as follows:
Put all the above ingredients in juicer and make juice.
Step 2, make a smoothie.
Here's what you need:
One food processor
One sardine tin
Juice from the top
2 shots or 3 shots of tequila (optional)
Your way of doing it is as follows:
Combine the first two ingredients into a food processor. Blend until smooth.
Since this seems to be the taste acquired for some people, you may want to keep any shots of tequila before drinking smoothies.
Another way to enjoy the health benefits of sardines is to put them in your salad. That is usually what I am doing.
