You have completed the preparatory work, but now ...
You have received the phone. I sent an e-mail. I connected. I submitted a sponsorship proposal and sent it.
A potential sponsor contacted you and asked for a meeting to announce proposals and ideas for sponsorship.
You do a slightly excited dance, quiet fist pump of your victory.
Yes. You have a shot.
Because this is your dream, afterall, even a shot that realizes that dream feels like a submarine to a joyous island of guilt.
That is why you are ready, but you are losing an incredible companion: confidence.
I understand that you have time to shine now, but I do not know where to start from.
And I have some tips on how to rely on solidarity that I am on your back.
1. Good introduction is the key.
If you do not know how to feel like a rock star by starting a presentation, please start by yourself first. Share your mission, share your passion for what you are doing, share what you have done so far.
It will not be an innovative idea without other features. There is no soul behind it. The idea that you became a sponsor is not a credit. That is a relationship. Remember, the relationship raises money!
2. Please do not discount yourself.
Sometimes you seem to ask too much, the act of seeking it becomes troublesome. You are trying to ask you to give you some money. What you can return now is Puppy's promise that you signed under the paper.
right? Wrong. Please remember that you have a will to make the world better. And money can be created to realize that vision that turns into the world. You have plan and determination.
The only thing you are missing is that a potential sponsor has enough resources. Money goes out, a good businessman knows it. The important thing is to use it for appropriate reasons and to support the right people. Become those people.
3. Clarify from the beginning.
The first thing that comes to my mind is Annalize Keating, a genius defense lawyer who is the main character of ABC's "How to solve a murder case".
The woman will somehow protect her client and raise confidence in the classroom of students and courts concerned. What makes her look like? She's direct! There is no single extra word, no excuses. Annalize never fears to ask when answers are necessary. She can not resist.
It is surprisingly easy to recognize that it is easy to become direct directly, rather than making a vaguely but comfortable courtesy veil, it will be very easy. "This project needs N dollars, 2 and 3." Boom! You are very confident and I am already proud.
4. Honor respect and keep compassion.
Please remember that the sponsor is not a tower you need to overcome or an enemy that needs to be defeated.
5. Prepare for the worst.
It may sound extreme, but you can use it to calm yourself before the meeting. What is the worst possible thing? You get "no". But is that bad? Sometimes rejection is a great opportunity for growth - I know!
Remember: If you are convinced that your idea is good and can make it a reality, you share your dreams with others and share your confidence that you feel good there is.
Regardless of the outcome.
And if it does not work first? No problem!
Practice is perfect. This opportunity will be ready for "success" at the next time.
