Do you own nursery schools or kindergartens or are you considering opening? If the answer is 'yes', you need to consider adding a block center to the play area. Why is the block center so important? Is not it just that I have plenty of pieces? Playing with wooden blocks and other building materials will help you learn in a variety of ways while your child has a lot of fun. Playing with any type of block involves both physical movement, macroscopic movement and fine movement. They need to physically lift and move the block. As balancing the wooden building blocks of a big tower, they learn to combine small Lego with a set of "Lego" and to learn to acquire fine motor skills, while sophisticated motor skills I will develop it. They also develop hand and eye coordination when working to find a way to make a tower stand.
Any type of building block for spiritual activities of kids promotion. They learn about size and shape, balance, cause and result. Children can use logic to learn to predict. He or she can "put this block here so that my structure does not fall?" The building block is the best way to teach many concepts of mathematics and science. A set of wooden blocks of units can build the basis for adding, multiplying, and learning fractions. When a toy falls to the ground, they can certainly learn about gravity. When you play with these toys, they learn in an intuitive way. Nobody needs to teach them how to bridge them. They just try something and try it another way if it falls. Blocks for kids is a wonderful way to exercise and improve their minds. The block for day nursery is already a wonderful way to help bring out a wonderful imagination.
Block center is a wonderful way to promote children's socialization. Several kids at the block center learn to share and cooperate. A shy child can play quietly with others Because of the collaborative nature of the block building, they may soon be joining with others. They learn to build ideas from each other. They will say things like "You need a fence around the farm you built." And they will be pleased with it.
A successful block area must be a defined area. It should be organized and changed from time to time. You need to reserve a certain area for the block's play space. It should be about 5 feet square. Define an area with some kind of border, such as a tape on the floor or carpet, or an area surrounded by 2 or 3 shelves. This is useful for keeping blocks. Since the children are on the floor, flat and durable weave carpets are great. This also helps noise when the block falls. Please make sure your block area is not in the main traffic area where creation is knocked down. Also, please move it away from the rest area.
Blocks for nursery need to be organized with containers and shelves. This also helps kids to clean them easily. You can even sort while picking up. Different containers of different shapes can be used. Paste the shape and type of the block on the outside. Young children may feel frustty if your blocks have to be stacked in a crate that fits in a certain way. Find a neat but simple solution.
Sometimes change your toys and make your blocking area interesting. This is meaningless just by rotating the type of available block. Add small animals, cars, knights, horses and other toys and see the children's creativity flowers. If you want to encourage girls to play there, please add dolls, small vases, doll furniture, plates and fabrics. You can prepare rulers, measurement tapes, play equipment, hard hats. Put a small flag on the block center, please set the fortress or castle at the top. If certain toys are available, do they tend to build different things?
There are many activities that you can promote at your block center. Many of these are little or none at all. Here are some ideas.
1. Add rain gutters, pipes and cardboard, small ball portions to the block center. Children have a good time and can roll the ball. They can also put a small car under a downhill.
2. Place buildings and architecture books nearby and see if children try to copy them.
3. Change the texture of some blocks. Please put sandpaper, vinyl, cloth or carpet in several blocks. Maybe I even put some outdoor carpets (like grass).
4. Take a picture of the project by placing the camera nearby. Let's make a special "fame wall" emphasizing the special creation of each child. In this way, they also take it home to show their mothers and fathers.
5 - Paste the tape on the floor of the design and see what children can build along the line.
6. Paint some blocks white or cover with white paper. Please add animals like gloves and mittens, penguins and seals. Let's build an igloo with Arctic day.
7. Place a long piece of paper on the wall near the center of the block. Mark the height of their creations and add names and dates next to the marks. They love to see their achievements. They try to defeat the highest score of themselves and friends.
8. Place the board and fulcrum in the block center. It helps to try out the balance. What happens when the block is brought close to the fulcrum? How many small blocks are needed to balance large blocks?
Adding well-organized block centers in nursery schools and kindergartens will be an area of choice for children. I will remember for years from now.
